Malawi is unique amongst former British Empire countries, in that it is landlocked and yet it has a Navy, albeit an Inland Navy.

The Malawi Navy is part of the country's Defence Force. A navy so small it has no ships, just two patrol boats, one small landing craft and 12 rigid inflatables. Operating from Monkey Bay on Lake Malawi.

Malawi is still part of the Commonwealth and still uses a white ensign based on the White Ensign similar to the Royal Navy.
